Concert Summary

Of the three shows the legendary Muddy Waters played at San Francisco’s Fillmore West the weekend of November 4, 5 and 6th, 1966, this second show on Saturday evening certainly featured the best array of his hits. Drlinwood is correct, this is an Ike Turner tune I'd never heard of turned into an instrumental. On Sammy's one and only(?) solo album, it is called Hot Cha. This makes sense as a lot of blues artists needed material to perform and often renamed songs to their liking.

I think tune #4 is Ike Turner's I Think It's Gonna Work Out Fine. Otis Rush and Ike both have this on CD's. This is Ike's version.

Tune #4 named Instrumental is called Hot Cha. It was a perennial favorite of Muddy's guitarist Sammy Lawhorn. Sammy left the band in the early 70's and took up residence at the legenday Theresa's Lounge on the south side of Chicago with Jr. Wells, John Primer, and others. It was $1 cover to get in.
